He looked over the curved words quickly, eyebrows lifting in surprise as dark eyes came back over to hers. One hand reached out, slipping around her waist and pulling her against him as he smiled approvingly.

"I wasn't sure you'd really ask them. It's quite the extension of trust," he replied, face softening in her light. "You should be rewarded." Grinning, he did something he rarely did - let his fangs slip out into existence for her viewing.
