"Heroin." Airy's tone didn't make it sound like a question.
She's wanted to try it for awhile and she knew that Cassidy would be more of a spaz than Matt when it came to trying something that was naturally addictive. Airy couldn't get addicted to it and it was perfectly fine and she wanted to try it.
"Just tell me what to do." If he was really against it, Airy would back down to Opium but she wanted to see how much Matt was going to let her get away with.
Matt arched his eyebrows in a look of gentle surprise at her firm request, but nodded and pushed himself to his feet to head over to his desk drawer. "You'll stay here then for a good bit, or we can walk around." The point was, she was staying in his sights and arms reach.
"As for what to do. I don't wear belts and they lack rubber here, so.." Dramatically, he pulled a dark red ribbon from the drawer, along with a slim, rectangular box.
"Okay. I figured I'd stay here until the effects wore off. Assuming you don't mind." Her light blue eyes glittered with warmth as she looked up at Matthew. He was sexy, sweet and a surprisingly good friend. He got down on himself a times, Airy knew it, but the only thing she thought she could do to help Matt was to offer her company.
"A ribbon?" She asked as she pushed herself to her feet to grab a candle. It wasn't lit but Airy waved her hand over it and used her powers to ignite it.
"Here. What are you doing exactly?"
Airy knew nothing about Heroin except what she picked up from watching the musical Rent.
"Of course not." He almost sounded semi offended by it, but it didn't go any further then his tone as his lips curled back to their casual, charming curl.
"Well, heroin is not smoked or ingested, rather injected. We will heat the powder to a liquid, pull it into a syringe, and put it in your arm. Like giving blood, but in reverse."
Box in hand, ribbon draped over and through his fingers, he gestured her back over to the pillows.
"A little more work, but significantly better an experience."
Airy had done her part and now she sat back on the pillows and watched Matt put everything together. The ribbon was beautiful and she found it interesting that such a pure lovely thing would be used for this.
"Does it feel hot?"
She wondered if it'd burn her arm at all or maybe she's over thinking it.
"I trust you but I'm curious." Airy leaned forward, resting her chin on a pillow as her legs curled behind her and she watched Matthew work. It was oddly hypnotizing.
He shook his head softly, smiling crookedly at her.
"No. It will cool quickly enough, and keep its liquid form. For a time, some people thought things like that, science, was true magic. I'm glad humans have evolved from that tendency, for the most part."
The box was set down, ribbon draped over his knee as he popped the box and withdrew goods she was likely familiar with.
"Ask all you like." A spoon, a small packet of powder, a new cottonball and a metal syringe.
"That's good to know." Airy giggled. "Yeah? I like that too, though there is still magic in my world and there is no textbook about it." She wished that there was a textbook under 'C' named 'the Creator' that she could use to look things up.
"Okay, so you melt it on the spoon, put it in the syringe and then.... what's the cotton ball for?"
Was there rubbing alcohol somewhere and the cotton ball was supposed to help with that?
"There are plenty of textbooks about it in my world, though I doubt how much it would help you." There was a lot of Magic in his world but Creators were a new idea to him. Perhaps not to everyone, he couldn't say.
"It's what helps allow us to draw it into the syringe. It also catches anything that doesn't liquidize." The process was simple enough, and displayed with a skilled hand, doing just as he'd described. The little mound of powder he dusted in liquefied, coloring around the edges and he used the needle to stir it a bit. As soon as he was satisfied with the quality, the cotton-ball was dropped in and the spoon pulled away from the flame so he could load the syringe. Once all that was done, he set it all down and lifted the ribbon.
Airy shifted and held out her right arm for Matthew to take. It was a good thing that she wasn't afraid of needles or this would be a lot more difficult.
"What is the ribbon for?" She hadn't realized that the ribbon was for her or she would have been toying with it while Matthew prepared the liquid drug. "It's really pretty."
Maybe it was nerves but she focused on something that Matthew had said when they first met, when the scar around her neck had still been visible.
"Have you ever had blood taken?" The ribbon was tied tightly around her lower bicep and Matt lightly slapped her inner elbow with his fingers. "It's the same idea. After all, we can't just inject this anywhere. Now, mind when it comes off. That's when the drugs will really hit you.."
He looked at her carefully. "Are you sure about this?"
"Of course." That made perfect sense, she just never thought of using a ribbon for that purpose. Ribbons were too pretty for that kind of thing. "Okay. I'm ready."
She's going to close her eyes...
"And I am sure. I'm also not going to watch because needles don't bug me but they are still unsettling to watch when its your arm." It felt like a natural reaction when something was being visibly injected into you.
He chuckled softly and nodded. "So I've heard. Go ahead."
Once she closed her eyes and turned her head, he carefully placed the needle and pushed it into her skin. It was a thin needle and the pinch was minimal. Slowly depressing the plunger, Matt eye'd Airy, watching for any reaction of pain or anything adverse as he emptied it into her arm.
Pulling the needle out, he puts his thumb over the pinprick, setting the needle aside and quickly pulling the knot on the ribbon around her arm.
Airy was used to the light touch of Rachel's hand, the warmth of her magic, and her presence in the face of anything clinical; she wasn't only Airy's doctor but her teacher, friend and surrogate family. Her only other interaction with needles had been when Shade had given her the tattoo on her shoulder-blade. She had felt the steady ache and thrum of pain but then her adrenaline had kicked in.
This was different.
Matt's hand was cold but strong and comforting. The needle bit lightly at her skin and if asked later, Airy would claim that she hadn't felt it at all. The odd feeling was when the liquid was pushed into her veins. She felt a little light headed but that was psychological and had nothing to do with the drug. Then there was a thin trail of fiery heat that trailed through her arm. The ribbon loosened and she felt the blood and heady sensation return to her head as if it was a wave trailing up the length of her arm.
She looked back at Matthew, at her arm and then at the ribbon. She gently took the red trimming and focused on the silky fabric as she rubbed it between her thumb and forefinger. "What am I supposed to feel?" It had taken a minute or two but not much longer. Airy felt herself relax. It wasn't like she had control over it either but it wasn't alarming. She felt calm and steady. Her skin itched a little but it was easy to ignore as the heady euphoric feeling began to mount.
Bright blue eyes looked up at Matt and she blinked.
"Oh."
That was all she could think to say.
The feelings continued to steadily rise and fall but the drug was working a lot faster than anything she'd ever inhaled.
Dark eyes watched her carefully. It had been so long since a fresh, sober to high experience, one he'd never have again, so he drank in the new perspective. Her eyes had already started to blow out when she took the ribbon and Matthew shifted to settle in next to her as she relaxed into the cushions.
'oh' was usually right, and Matthew smirked, drawing his fingers lightly up and down her arm.
"Feeling okay there, cherie?"
It was a bit strange, to be honest, to know that there wasn't going to be anyone chasing after and chastising him for this, especially with her safety in mind. Cassidy would normally be the biggest concern but Matthew hadn't met anyone that came close to his own addiction and Cassidy was damned close. No doubt he'd encourage it, so long as precautions were taken.
Airy gently looped the red ribbon around her neck and tied it into a bow like a collar. It felt silky, smooth and good against her skin and she wanted to keep it for a little bit longer. Hopefully Matt didn't mind because Airy hadn't had the forethought to ask him.
"Yeah. Really yeah."
She smiled at him as his fingers brushed along her shoulder. "Mmmmm, that feels good." Airy closed her eyes and let herself relax, enjoying the full experience of the drug as it slipped through her system. It was slowly consuming her thoughts along with the pleasant euphoric feeling that fluttered like a butterfly inside of her rib cage. "I think I like this." That itchy feeling hadn't gone away but it was easy to ignore.
"The ribbon too. It's very pretty." Airy kept her eyes closed while she spoke. "Can you keep touching me Matt? I don't want it to stop."
He smiled softly at the ribbon around her neck. "Like a little kitten you are, with a Christmas bow," he teased.
Matt could visibly mark the tension leaving her body and the extra weight she let sink into the pillows next to him, and she could have passed for sleeping if left there long enough. He didn't know what god he needed to thank for her adventurous nature, but someone was owed one.
Of course, when a lady asks a gentleman to touch her, one does as asked. Matthew chuckled and scooted closer, putting an arm around her shoulder.
"Come, get comfortable." There was room enough to lay out in his lap too, if she wanted too, but as soon as she got whatever comfortable was for her, his fingers would take a longer path up and down her arm, mind already tilting towards wondering what all he'll be able to get away with.
"I wish I could take you to a light show, or a planetarium. They're always my favorite to visit when I wasn't finding a party to crash on H."
"Meow." Airy purred softly, a smile playing across the plump curve of her lips.
Her torso shifted and Airy sprawled across Matt's lap, her hair fanning around his legs in a halo of wavy chestnut brown. The crystal sheen of her blue eyes remained but as time wore and the drug continued to seep into her system, Airy's gaze became unfocused and relaxed.
"That sounds pretty. I'd love to see a planetarium. Even normally. I've always loved stars." Her fingers brush against his side and begin to draw lazy circles against his silky shirt. "My favorite quote is about stars. I read it out of a National Geographic magazine at my dad's shop. I don't remember it exactly but it's something along the lines of; when we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with other stars all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty."
Her voice trails off and for a few moments, Airy lets silence fill the small room.
"Mon petit chaton," he purred back, one hand helping the mass of her hair fall over his legs, fingers setting themselves to combing through it gently as he kept to her request, letting his elbow on a pillow behind him so that he could keep stroking the soft underside of her forearm.
"That's a beautiful quote. I miss the days where people could recite it on command; the arts been lost somewhere."
He didn't mind silence, but it did invite his hands to wander, the one in her hair settling in a very loose hold on a handful of her lengths as his fingers moved over to start touching the side of her.
"I don't suppose you know any."
Were his fingers traveling down an inch or two, every few strokes? Boldly, he slipped his hand up under the edge of her shirt, dissatisfied with anything that wasn't the velvet heat of her skin.
Airy closed her eyes and smiled as Matthew's fingers combed through her hair, softly tugging at her scalp. It was a relaxing feeling and it made Airy realize how infrequently she had her hair played with. Eve played with her hair from time to time but she couldn't recall anyone else teasing the silky tresses.
"I miss those days too." Never mind that she hadn't been alive during the days that Matthew was talking about.
"I don't know any. I don't think."
Her thoughts were slowly growing more hazy and less focused. Airy could say whatever popped into her head but she was having trouble focusing on any specific thoughts. "That feels good." She hummed softly. Her fingers pushed at the hem of her shirt, showing Matthew the flat of her abdomen. Whatever reservations Airy might have had, they were completely gone now. "I like your hands." They felt warm and sent little jolts of electricity through her that Airy wanted to experience more of.
He would gladly do it anytime he had the chance. The feeling of it being done to him was one he relished and her comfort level was important to maintain. A new high was one meant to be tended carefully and with a loving hand.
Of course, there was no helping the subtle surge of lust that went through him as she lifted her shirt and his fingers found her side, brushing up and over her stomach so he could turn his palm out on her. "I like touching you," he purred softly, hand slowly running up and down the flat plane of her torso, getting further in each direction with each soft stroke that gave way to the barest touch of his fingers.
"Take off your shirt," he encouraged softly. "Give me free reign."
Airy smiled as his fingers continued to trail up and down the flat of her stomach. It felt so good. Like a simple enjoyment that was heightened by the heady pleasure and calmness of the drug. Her skin felt like it might catch on fire and the thought of taking off her clothes was one that she greeted eagerly and had some how hadn't thought of.
Without speaking, Airy tugged at her shirt and pulled it over head. She was wearing a cute dark violet bra beneath. It was tamer than some of her other bra's, holding her breasts in silky cups with a little bow styled between them. She let her shirt fall somewhere on the pillows and then forgot about it.
"Free reign." Her arms stayed above her head, her fingers curling against one of the pillows. "It's all yours."
It felt good and after a brief pause, Airy closed her eyes and enjoyed the pleasant simple sensation of Matthew's touch.
This was the perfect image; her spread across his laps, arms up in supplication, brown tresses both chaotically and perfectly curled between the pale forearms that held it. One hand ran up her arms, gently trapping them comfortably where they were while his right hand skimmed the plane of her stomach and chest. His fingers ghosted across her skin the closer they got to her neck, almost barely touching her before he moved back down, applying a more, relaxed pressure as he crested her breasts.
He could sit here for hours if she'd let him, moving between the long strokes and breaking into random drawings that were curled and twisted by his fingers across her torso. Innocence was never his strong suit and after he'd thoroughly enjoyed himself, his fingers started daring further down, running across the waist of her pants and threatening to dip into the curve of her hips, 'stopped' only by the restrictions of her pants.
"You're beautiful, in case Cassidy hasn't told you today. Your perfect dancers body.." His head tilted as he palmed the curve of her with a hum, pushing the waistband of her pants suggestively before being forced back up to freer planes of skin.
His fingers trailed little seeds of grass across her skin. The seeds sprouted and spread through her, heat blossoming from their core. Airy hummed a soft happy note while her lips curled into a lazy pleased smile. It was only when he reached the peaks of her breasts that her reaction changed, even the light pressure inspired a little moan, her body arching towards him in its pleasure.
"Not today." She laughed, a muted throaty sound. "I am a dancer." She'd been dancing since she was a child and while Airy wasn't muscular, she had enough muscles to perform; thin, lean and lethal in their own right.
Her lips parted and those unconnected azure blue eyes looked up at Matt. "You can go further." She wiggled her hips. "I like it when you touch me everywhere." Only that she wasn't going to help him remove the rest of her clothes. Airy was enjoying the lightness seeping through her body as she sprawled across both Matthew and the pillows.
Well that was sure a sight to see, Matt's head tilting a little with a pull of his smile as he watched the grass bloom and grow on her skin. The smile broke into a grin at her encouragement, fingers lanquidly taking their time to get back down to her waistband.
"I was hoping you'd say that." Or rather that she didn't and he went ahead and did it anyway. Nimble fingers pushed open the button on her pants before ducking his finger pads underneath to tease her hot, silky intimate corner of hip before he withdrew, fingers ghosting up her side and around her breast again, circling to her nipple that he playfully pinched and tugged.
"Get rid of your pants, hmm? My reach is limited without moving and I'm quite comfortable."
The image faded as Matthew's fingers release the button of her shorts. Airy's thought were fleeting and it was hard to focus on any one thing for too long. "So I have to get it from here?" She asked with a tiny smile. "Mmmmm."
A beat.
"Okay."
Airy didn't move. Instead she wiggled her hips and curled her wrist, using her magic to take off her shorts. It wasn't something she'd done before but in her current state she didn't doubt herself. Her shorts began to glide down her long lovely legs and then slip off her feet before crumbling to the floor.
